Bingo Glossary

- Blackout- (Also called Coverall) A pattern that requires the completion of the whole card in order to win.
- Bonanza- Rules for "Bonanza Bingo" vary from parlor to parlor but typically the caller draws 50 numbers before the start of the session. If a player can get a blackout on any one of the Bonanza Bingo sheets purchased, using the 45 numbers selected ahead, the player wins an "instant" prize. Towards the end of the session, if there is no winner, additional numbers are drawn until there is a victor for a "consolation" prize.
- Caller- A casino employee that announces the drawn numbers.
- Chat-Room- A screen where you can chat with other Bingo players.
- Coverall- (Also called Blackout) A pattern that requires the completion of the whole card in order to win.
- Dauber- A pen or an ink filled bottle that is used to cross the squares containing called numbers.
- Early Bird Game- A bingo game that is started earlier than other regularly programmed games.
- Free Space- a square in the center of your card. Being empty, it counts in favor of your winning pattern.
- Game-Board- An electronic display board that shows what balls were already called.
- Game Room- There are online games that divide players into different game rules.
- G.T.I., T.E.D.- An electronic dauber system that allows playing multiple packs at the same time. The will cost you an additional rental fee..
- Hardway Bingo- Bingo in a straight line without using the empty square.
- Jackpot- A cash prize usually given to winners that manage to complete a complicated pattern, within a particular number of called balls.
- Minimum Bye- in- the smallest amount of money you are required to spend in order to have the right to collect prizes.
- Money Ball- A number that is drawn before the game is starts, that will potentially double a gambler’s winning if Bingo is hit on that particular number.
- Pattern- A shape that must be covered on your card in order to win.
- Progressive Jackpot- A jackpot that is continually increased until it is won by a player.
- Rainbow Pack- A paper pack that allows players to play for three or four different prize denominations at once.
- Six-pack, Nine-pack- Nine or six numbers in a block on a single Bingo card.
- Validation- The right to win additional Bingo jackpots. The price is varies according to the number of played cards.
- Wild-Number- The first number out of the hopper determines the wild number; for example, if 43 is drawn, all numbers ending in 3 should be marked off.
